Family, Friends, and Music

Three important aspects of my life: family, friends, and music.  Recently I was fortunate enough to go back to Indiana for all three.

For the past 2 years I have foregone the Indy 500, sadly, to combine seeing my family with seeing my favorite band.  And this year just happened to be more exceptional than the last...which I didn't think was possible.

Not only was my nephew, Gage, another year older and smarter and cuter, but also after 40-something Dave Matthews Band shows, I experienced one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Combine those things with the fact that I got to see my DEAR girlfriends, Lisa, Angela, and Curly, and spend time with all my family...it was just a wonderful, much needed trip.

I hope everyone got to spend some time with family over this holiday weekend.  Happy Independence!

"The reason I play music is to touch people - for selfish reasons, as well.  It feels good to make someone else feel something, whether it's a kiss, a painting, good idea, or it's a song."
~David J. Matthews
