If You Don't Like Flowers You Won't Like This Post! (aka Camping in the Time of COVID19)

I'm not even going to say how long it's been since I blogged - just that it's shameful! I share so many photos randomly on social media that I don't take the time to photo-blog anymore.  The other thing that's shameful is that when I started making my 2020 calendar I had taken fewer photos with my nice expensive camera than ever. So I made a promise to myself that in 2020 I would get my camera out more and have a nice 2021 calendar. However, you may have heard, we've been hit with this damn COVID-19/Coronavirus/'rona-bitch, so we are all limited in our daily activities. Thankfully, this weekend my husband got me out to a very remote part of the state and I took my camera and we took our "new" puppy, Zara. Per usual, my photos do not do it justice.  So, what I would like you to know is that I've never seen so many poppies in one place. I've never seen so much yellow ever. And, something I was unable to capture, is we had never seen so many butterflies in our lives! At times it was literally like it was snowing butterflies!  I hope you enjoy the photos. Much love to everyone during this challenging time.

First poppies of the 2020 season

Lupine and poppies

Four-leaf poppy! Good luck?!

Fiddleneck

Lupine
These were all taken about an hour into our drive to our campsite. Little did we know what tomorrow held for us!

And then we settled on a campsite. This was my first time camping in the Tepui tent and I really liked it much better than a tent on the hard, rocky ground!

My part is done!

All set up

Zara is a happy camper - literally!

Zara! See the bunny right in front of you?!

No?  Okay, she's not a hunting dog.

Photography while biking!

Zara had never seen the bikes before. She loved running alongside us!
We all 3 made enemies of the teddybear cholla!

Lots of cholla!

That little orange dot is us - not a bad place to spend the night!

Right after I took this photo I wiped out on my bike!  LOL

Pretty sure this guy has the 'rona!

A little tired after her bike run!

Sunset

Zara dug her first hole! Not quite sure why! LOL
But she came away with a very dirty nose!
Sunrise in a series of 3 photos. We were supposed to be watching the sunrise in Morocco this week, but this wasn't too shabby!

And then we set out for what turned out to be a 5 hour hardcore drive out of the park! It was a rough ride but we saw so much beauty!

Poppies!

Puppy in the poppies!

Look! A plane!

So, I said there were a ton of butterflies, but they were hard to capture with a puppy traipsing about!

I mean, every corner we turned there were more poppies! It was stunning.

Milk thistle

Exploring

This marker indicates where the ride got REALLY rough!

This one may have been the most concentrated patch of poppies we saw!

Eric asked me to zoom in on it
